Been ages since I last posted a Yenko Deuce in Fathom Blue. This car in this color is just unbelievably Hot. Or Cool. Or both. Yeah, it can be both.

This is the first Deuce I’ve seen on spider mags.

Same here, they’re usually sitting on the stock SS wheels, or on Slot Mags. I guess I like the slots better, but that color against that background had to be shared.

I’ve seen them mostly on SS/Magnum 500's or Torq Thrust D clones (Atlas, Appliance).

A two owner Fathom Blue duece was my neighbor last summer at the Forest Grove Concours. Just a stunning car that sounded awesome too! Was neat having both this car and my 68 next to each other due to both being rare small block monsters

Holy crap this paint job is beautiful! Amazing color and the stripe suits it well.
Also, I never noticed how well proportionate this car is.
Edit: WAITAMINUTE! It’s BlazinAce! Where the hell have you been, man?

Oh yeah, the Magnum is pretty common too. To be honest, I’ve never seen one of these on the flesh, and they’re not commonly mentioned in Brazilian car mags or blogs, so what I’ve seen of them is from international blogs, and Google images, and it’s possible they’re just using the same couple of cars every time hahaha.... There weren’t many of these around.

Haha, I know, I didn’t really care for it either until I saw a good clean of a Nova in a visual dictionary and noticed how clean and well proportioned the design is. Almost as if it right in the between a Muscle Car and a Euro-ish sport coupe. Maybe that’s why I have three or four British books ranking it among the best american classics.

The magnum wheel was the std wheel on the Yenko Dueces. Yenko usually put Atlas 5 spokes on the cars though. No true Yenko has steel wheels, Yenko never ordered cars like that. Even the cars getting Atlas wheels had Rallys(67-69) or Magnums(70 only)

Right in the between a Muscle Car and a Euro-ish sport coupe.
That’s a good way to put it. The proportions and lines remind the Kadett B or the Escort Mk2.

Well, herp derp, guess I mixed my wheels up, you’re right the standard wheels weren’t SS wheels.

Yup, the Deuce was Yenko’s insurance beater. Insurance companies were marking up rates for cars they considered overpowered, and the big block Novas fell right into that category, so Yenko made a performance special using the 350 small block. Of course, that Small Block was the 360 hp LT-1, more powerful than the base 396 and almost as powerful as the solid lifter top of the line 402, so in a way it wasn’t exactly just a 350.

Yup, my thoughts exactly. Even though the Nova is a tad longer and wider than the Opala, it looks and feels surprisingly small in person. It’s not a compact car eve in today’s bloating standards, but it does feel smallish

This is good design. Looks small, feels smallish, is big.

Yeah because the Duece wasn’t technically a SS Nova just a base Nova with a hot LT-1 motor. It can get really confusing when dealing with COPO built cars because there were really no rules on what could be built

well i say “just”, in that the big block is the one that gets all the recognition. lt-1 shared the 30-30 camshaft with the 350 horse 327 right?
but yeah, the lt-1 was the last hurrah of the high compression small blocks.
good stuff.
